Yesterday my friend and I were considering where to eat lunch. Of course, it had to be somewhere quick and convenient, since we both had limited time before we had to get back to work. We agreed to give The Winning Combonation deli a try.
I only had a second to look around the place before I was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. The place is nicely decorated and comfortable, with plenty of tables and open space. Speaking of comfort, the greeting I received made this first time visitor feel like a regular. They actually seemed to care that I was there. No fake smiles or standard greetings here.
Effie’s Homemade Oatcakes doesn't rhyme with anything

“A cookie as a light and tasty snack” is what it said on the cover of the Effie's Homemade Oatcakes I purchased yesterday at the Hannah Grimes Marketplace. After I ate 6 in a row, I realized they probably mean light if you only eat one…or two (as two is the serving size). But I couldn’t help myself. Well actually I could because I helped myself to 6 of them. They are just plain good! And you don’t have to eat them plain either. Effie’s has some excellent recipes on their site, including the Perfect S’more, pictured above.

Just like homemade. I'll admit, I have never actually made cinnamon raisin bread at home, and if I did it wouldn't be this good. This bread is what you imagine when you think of homemade. Fresh ingredients, made locally...what more could you ask for?

Nothing says summer more than some BBQ, and this Thursday Charcoal Charlie is firing up the smoker in Keene. Come and enjoy some great BBQ like beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and of course our favorite, ribs! Come and get it by the piece, pound or meal.
No meal is complete without dessert, which will be provided by Merrymeeting Farm. There will be pies including Blueberry, Peach, Raspberry, Mixed Berry or Apple. Is your mouth watering yet?
