Roast Beef, Rare Service

Yesterday my friend and I were considering where to eat lunch. Of course, it had to be somewhere quick and convenient, since we both had limited time before we had to get back to work. We agreed to give The Winning Combonation deli a try.

I only had a second to look around the place before I was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. The place is nicely decorated and comfortable, with plenty of tables and open space. Speaking of comfort, the greeting I received made this first time visitor feel like a regular. They actually seemed to care that I was there. No fake smiles or standard greetings here.

I scanned the many standard offerings and house sandwiches and decided to order a roast beef sandwich with my favorite veggies and mayo. It was tough to choose from the many bread options, but I settled on a white bulkie roll. My companion settled on a turkey sandwich on multigrain. She asked for an opinion of their spicy mustard and was promptly offered a description and a sample. She loved it. We paid the man and sat down to enjoy our lunch. I immediately noticed that this was no shipped in from wherever, shrink wrapped roast beef that is so common. This beef was the real deal, cooked and sliced on site. Her turkey was the same. This was an impressive lunch for the price of a couple of drive-thru value meals.

As good as the food was, I was more impressed by the staff at The Winning Combonation. We were made to feel very comfortable and our satisfaction was important to the whole team. How do I know this? Every one of the three gents on staff asked how our lunch was. Not in an annoying I-have-to ask kind of way, but in a way that made me feel that if I shared any negatives one of these guys was going to make it his personal mission to make sure I left with a smile on my face.

Jody and the team at The Winning Combonation will be seeing me frequently. I like their food, I like their prices, and I love their service. If you want a great lunch at a place that makes you feel like more than a wallet, check this place out. This kind of service is as rare as good roast beef.
